A globally recognized biostatistician specializing in the design of clinical trials for neurodegenerative disease, with over 150 peer-reviewed publications. A pioneer in outcome measurement, she helped develop the composite scores (ADCOMS, SCACOMS, and the GENCOMS framework) used to detect subtle change in early-stage disease, and is known for the “Time Saved” method, which expresses treatment benefit as months of functional life preserved.

Ranked by Chambers USA as a Leader in Life Sciences: Regulatory/Compliance, she previously served as the Ursula von Der Ruhr Professor of Bioethics and Director of the Center for the Study of Bioethics at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and has counseled policymakers at the NIH, FDA, and HHS.
Alzheimer’s Disease & Memory Disorders
A board-certified neurologist and geriatric neurologist specializing in diagnosing and treating Alzheimer’s disease and other memory disorders. He earned his medical degree at the University of Arizona, trained in neurology at Baylor College of Medicine, and completed a geriatric neurology and dementia fellowship at UC San Diego. A Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and editor-in-chief of Neurology and Therapy, he is a leading investigator in national Alzheimer’s clinical trials and has authored more than 450 scientific articles.
